How To Save Easy Money Each Month

I am in LOVE with coupons!  They are such a fast and easy way to save money on so many different things.  I've realized that you could save so much money grocery shopping just by using coupons, stacking coupons, and shopping for items when they're on sale and stockpiling.

Many stores allow you to use a store coupon and a manufacturer coupon for a single item.  For instance, if I'm at Ralphs and I want to buy diapers, I can use a manufacturer's coupon and a Ralphs coupon towards ONE package of diapers.  Use those two coupons when the diapers are already on sale and you get a HUGE savings!

I now tend to buy lots of items that I use when they're on sale to create a stockpile.  When pasta sauce, tomato sauce, or chicken broth go on sale for instance, I purchase A LOT, especially if I have coupons.  Items like these that are not quickly perishable are good to stock up on.  I try to never buy an item at regular price unless I absolutely need to.  After a while, you'll start to notice a pattern as to when certain items go on sale and you'll be able to shop accordingly.

I like shopping at stores like Ralphs that have rewards programs.  It's an incentive to shop there because you earn points on your purchases and at the end of the quarter you get money back.  I figure, if I'm going to do the shopping anyway, I may as well look for opportunities to get money back where I can.

I not only use coupons in store, but online as well. The internet is a wonderful thing and a great resource for finding savings.  Whenever I want to purchase something online, I first try and search for coupon codes.  You can find codes for free shipping, a percentage off or sometimes even free items.  Here are some of the sites that I like.

I always get the Sunday paper, which is packed with lots of coupons and savings inside.  I use an internet site (www.sundaycouponpreview.com) to preview which inserts will be in the paper each week (Smart Source, Red Plum, P&G, etc) and buy extra copies accordingly.  A Sunday paper ranges from $1-$2 in my area, but I get so much more than that in savings.   There are also great sites online that offer free coupons that you can print out at home.  You can also go directly to a company's website to try and find coupons and samples.
